Beyond Imagining

My friend Sara and I have long talked about how things could happen for good even beyond what we might presently be able to imagine or be aware of. I had a wonderful demonstration of that this week as four of my intentions produced results beyond what I intended.

On Tuesday I had an emergency. I tried to refill my one prescription for natural thyroid supplement and couldn’t get it filled. Not only had my prescription expired, but even if I had a prescription, the pharmacy couldn’t get the exact brand of thyroid supplement I needed. It was no longer being manufactured. And I didn’t have a doctor to give me a new prescription. I had only enough pills for two days.

I took a deep breath and decided as a spirit that I was going to handle this once and for all. I had been having difficulty getting this supplement off and on for more than a year. It appeared I needed to find a new brand, but I didn’t want to. This was the brand that worked best for my body. I had tried them all.

I called a new doctor that had been recommended to me. She saw me the next morning. She immediately called a compounding pharmacy and got me a custom-formulated two-week emergency supply of my exact brand. I didn’t know this was possible. Not only can I get my exact brand, but I can get my exact dose in one pill (previously I had to take five pills of various doses) and the cost was half what I had been paying at the so-called “discount” national chain pharmacy.

Also on Tuesday, I received a phone call cancelling a lecture I was supposed to give on Wednesday. To give this lecture, I would have had to drive three hours each way and stay overnight, so it was really two days off my usual activities–and I wasn’t being paid. On Wednesday, I received a phone call asking if I was available to give a seminar at a conference, for a professional speaking fee plus expenses. Yes! I had done nothing in the physical world to promote myself as a speaker, but I had made a spirit decision to be paid professional fees for speaking. So of course, the free lecture was cancelled and was replaced by a paid speaking engagement for a professional fee. But there’s more…the conference is being held at one of my most favorite hotels in the world–where my husband and I spent our wedding night! We get an all-expense paid honeymoon!

On Thursday, my computer printer broke down twice in ten minutes. It was never a good printer to begin with. The print quality wasn’t good and it printed very slow. Even though I’ve had this printer for six months and didn’t have my receipt, I decided that the store would exchange it for a fabulous printer that I loved. I packed the printer up and took it back to the store. I told them it was a piece of junk and I wanted to exchange it for a better quality printer. Since I am a regular customer there, and they knew that, they did give me an exchange. And I do love my new printer. It is faster, has much better print quality, and gives me a charming little chime when the print job is done. This better printer cost 30% less than the faulty one, so I even had money left over to buy ink.

Also this week, the opportunity arose to get the roof on our house replaced. We do need a new roof on our house. It’s starting to leak and drip right over my desk during a heavy rain, and we have lots of heavy rain here. We had been putting it off because a new roof is a big investment. We needed a roof, so of course a salesman for a roofing company just showed up at our door with a great roof that has a thirty-year guarantee.

But here’s the thing. It turns out that here in Florida there is an “insurance roofing code” and if you build your roof to meet that code you get a HUGE break on your insurance costs–like 79%! Insurance is high here because of hurricanes. The monthly payments to buy the roof were the same as the savings on the insurance premiums plus the savings on our energy bill, plus $15. For practically the same amount of money we were already spending we could save energy and protect all our belongings. Should there ever be a hurricane, our house will be snug and secure and dry, as our roof will withstand 180 mph winds.

Of course, we bought the roof. This is so amazing. We could have gone shopping for a roof and made the best decision we could based on data and logic, but what are the odds that we would have even encountered one of the six roofers in the state of Florida who have the ability to build this special roof that gets the insurance break? We just said “we need a roof” and even though we had no money to pay for one, the perfect roof with the perfect financing just showed up at our door.

Spirit intention is a powerful, powerful thing. Left to operate unfettered by limiting thoughts, it will find the highest good and make it manifest. That is very real to me now.
